Jio launches a recharge plan with 5GB data and 90 days Jio Hotstar subscription for Rs 100 | Technology News
Following the JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar merger, Reliance Jio has silently removed the basic JioCinema benefit from all its recharge plans. The company, on Sunday, introduced a new data-only recharge plan that includes a 90-day Jio Hotstar subscription along with 5GB of data for Rs 100.
This plan is currently listed on Jio.com with a validity of 90 days. Unlike the regular Jio Hotstar mobile plan, which costs Rs 149 for 90 days and limits access to mobile phones, this plan allows users to stream web series, movies, and live sports—such as the upcoming IPL 2025—on both smartphones and smart TVs at up to 1080p resolution. In comparison, an equivalent standalone recharge plan for Jio Hotstar’s Super plan costs Rs 299, making this a value-for-money recharge plan, especially for those who do not have a Jio Hotstar subscription.

This plan does not offer any calling or SMS benefits, and users will need a base plan to activate Jio’s latest data-only pack with the Jio Hotstar subscription. Alternatively, users can consider Jio’s Rs 195 cricket data pack, which offers 15GB of 4G/5G data along with a 90-day Jio Hotstar mobile subscription. However, this plan is limited to mobile devices and does not support streaming on smart TVs.
This is an interesting recharge plan from Jio, as it significantly reduces the subscription fee. Additionally, it includes 5GB of extra 4G/5G data, which will be useful for streaming content at higher resolutions. Considering Jio Hotstar is the exclusive platform streaming the upcoming IPL 2025 cricket tournament, this plan will be highly beneficial for those who enjoy watching live cricket on a smartphone or smart TV.
