AudioPro C10 MKII review

Music systems that used to command pride of place in our living rooms in the 1990s are passe now. In their place, we now have compact speakers that take up much less space but offer more than what expensive giants of the past ever did. The new breed of speakers is also more stylish, so much so that they can be a fashion statement despite their minimalist appearances. The AudioPro C10 MKII plays to these very strengths.
The AudioPro C10 MKII does not look out of place on the bookshelf or mantelpiece. It is not too large, but certainly not a speaker you can move around much. And if the fabric mesh on the front does not match the vibe of your room, you can remove the magnetic cover and show the speakers directly. The wooden chassis has controls on the top, housed in a metallic strip. Here you get one-touch access to preset stations and different audio sources. This one does not come with a remote and you will use the AudioPro app for setup plus controls.
The preset problem

The AudioPro C10 MKII is a Wi-Fi speaker and once I connected it to my network I just had to select it from the AirPlay options to stream songs from my iPhone. This means your music is not interrupted by constant incoming messages and calls. You can customise the preset buttons on the speaker to play your favourite songs too. However, I found this frustrating and complicated, and multiple tries did not yield results. There has to be an easier way to do this.
All sins are forgiven
A speaker that can easily fill the room. (Image credit: Nandagopal Rajan/The Indian Express)
But all this is forgotten and forgiven the moment you play your first song on the AudioPro C10 MKII. It is pure bliss as the speaker offers a perfectly balanced music profile with the long throw woofer and two tweeters playing in perfect tandem. Even in a relatively large living room like mine, this speaker can from one corner fill the room with Jagjit Singh’s ethereal Hey Ram chants in the morning, letting the music flow across the room as if it were the perfumed smoke from an incense stick.
The AudioPro C10 MKII offers a great sense of space, creating layers for the vocals and instruments, but still blending them enough so as not to lose their soul. Listening to Azhalinte Azhangalil, one of my all-time favourites, I could feel Nikhil Mathew’s soulful vocals as well as a bass beat I had not paid much attention to in the past. For this very reason, I felt this speaker is perfect for those who love Ghazals and other vocal-heavy melodies.
But that does not mean the speaker can’t step up for a Xylophone Concertino if needed, handling the lows and rare highs of Toshiro Mayuzumi’s spectacular composition as needed. Then it steps up another notch for the violin-heavy Symphonie espagnole, really showing us why that 5.25″ woofer is getting so much space.
A speaker for those who value music. (Image credit: Nandagopal Rajan/The Indian Express)
You will buy this for an accurate soundscape that takes away distortions or excesses. Also, I have not tried out many other speakers that do justice to Apple Lossless this well. In fact, you can even wire this to a proper audio player if you are convinced that wireless can be flawless. I paired this with my Apple HomePod for a multi-room session and enjoyed every minute of it.

With a Rs 65,000 price tag, the AudioPro C10 MKII is not for everyone. It is for those who value their music and spend enough time on it every day. I recommend this for those who consider themselves audiophiles and will spend the money needed for that validation and satisfaction.
