Jio Hotstar subscription: These Jio and Vi plans offer free access to premium OTT platform | Technology News
Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema recently merged to launch a new OTT platform called “JioHotstar.” While existing subscribers will retain their membership until their plan expires, Jio and Vodafone Idea have already launched their plans that offer free JioHotstar subscription. If you are interested in mobile plans that let you watch content on the new streaming platform for free, here’s a quick look at some new plans available right now.
Reliance JioHotstar plans
Since Jio already has several plans that offer free JioCinema access, one might think that the network operator has numerous plans with a JioHotstar subscription. However, at the moment, Jio has only two plans that let you watch content on the new platform.
The cheapest amongst the two is the newly launched Rs 195 cricket data pack that offers complimentary three-month JioHotstar subscription. The data only add-on plan comes with 15GB of 4G/5G data and gives you free-access to the ad-supported JioHotstar mobile plan, which lets users stream content in HD resolution on one device at a time.
Next up is the Rs 949 plan, which the network operator introduced last week. This prepaid plan has a validity of 84 days and comes with 2GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and unlimited 5G data. If you are already subscribed to a Jio plan that offers unlimited voice calls and daily data, the Rs 195 will make more sense, but those looking to recharge their mobile can go with the more expensive plan as it makes more sense.
Vodafone Idea JioHostar plans
Vodafone Idea also offers some really lucrative prepaid plans that offer free JioHotstar membership. If you already have an active base plan, check out the Rs 151 add-on plan that comes with 4GB and 30 days validity. While you won’t get any service validity, it comes bundled with 3 months of JioHotstar subscription.
In case you are looking for a normal prepaid plan, the Rs 469 plan might cater to your needs. With a validity of 28 days, the plan offers unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day, and you also get 2.5GB mobile data alongside unlimited data from 12AM to 12PM. Like the aforementioned add-on plan, you also get 3 months of free JioHotstar membership.
Looking for a quarterly prepaid plan that comes with 3 months of free JioHotstar access? The Rs 994 might appeal to you. It comes with 84 days of validity, offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, 2GB of data per day and unlimited mobile data between 12AM and 12PM.

The most expensive prepaid plan from Vodafone Idea that offers free JioHotstar costs Rs 3,699, but apart from standard benefits like unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day, you get 2GB of mobile data every day and a year long JioHostar membership, making it ideal for those who want to save money in the long run.
Note: Airtel and BSNL have reportedly announced their prepaid plans with JioHotstar membership, but these network operators are yet to update their website with details about the same.
