WhatsApp will soon let you react to a message with stickers | Technology News

Meta continues to experiment with WhatsApp and might soon introduce a new capability, further enhancing the user experience on one of the world’s most popular messaging and calling apps. A report by WABetaInfo from Saturday indicates that WhatsApp is currently testing the ability to react to a message using stickers.
Stickers are already very popular on WhatsApp, allowing users to express their moods or reactions in a unique way. On WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.13.23, Meta is taking this to a whole new level, enabling users to react to a message with a sticker, similar to how they currently use emojis.

The feature is currently under beta testing for Android devices, and Meta is likely to expand it to iOS devices in the coming days, at least for beta testers. Considering the development phase, we expect Meta to roll out this feature to everyone in the next few weeks.
According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, users can long-press a message to open the most-used emoji bar, which can be customised to add stickers. These stickers can then be used as a reaction to a message.
Currently, message reactions are limited to emojis, but the upcoming update will incorporate stickers as well. These could be from WhatsApp’s official packs, third-party apps, or stickers created by users themselves.
This feature is likely to enhance WhatsApp users’ ability to react to messages more expressively, especially in cases where a standard emoji might not feel sufficient.
With a recent update, WhatsApp also became a more private and secure messaging platform by introducing advanced chat privacy, an opt-in feature that prevents users from taking content outside of a group. When enabled, this feature restricts users from exporting messages from a specific chat or group and also prevents media from being automatically downloaded to the gallery.
